According to Suffolk County Police Department, an 11-year-old female and her father were in Walmart, located at 750 Middle Country Road when a man committed a lewd act while looking at the girl at approximately 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 25. The victim told her father and the man fled the store, police said.
Following an investigation by Sixth Squad detectives, Reynaldo Flores, 53, of 41 Half Mile Road in Middle Island, was arrested and charged with Public Lewdness and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, said the police report.
He was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday, April 26.
Detectives are asking anyone who believes they could be a victim of Flores to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
